All the tourists visiting Brazil need a passport to get into the country. However, not everyone needs a visa.
For example, based on the principle of reciprocity, Americans need a visa because the US requires that Brazilians have a visa to enter the US, same thing can de applied to Canada, Mexico and USA.
At the moment we wrote this document visitors from USA, Canada and Mexico needed a visa to enter Brazil. Visitors from most Europeans countries do not need a visa for visits during less than 90 days to Brazil.
